| Support | [email protected] |
Not publicly documented: founding date, leadership names, employee count, ARR, and funding status. We're a very small team and haven't published these — ask us directly at [email protected].
2. Why Mucho Gusto is different
| Video-first, not form-first | Profiles are built by recording a 5–60 second selfie video answering a prompt, not by filling out a bio form. Mucho Gusto auto-extracts a transcript, summary, and topic tags from the video. |
| One number, not a survey | The Belonging Score is computed from real product data — connections made, videos posted, how evenly attention is spread — not from a survey employees have to fill out. |
| Public, auditable methodology | The exact weights and definitions behind the Belonging Score are published at app.muchogusto.ai/methodology — it isn't a black-box number. |
| No nagging emails | The loop runs through the feed, Slack notifications, and gentle in-app nudges — not recurring "please fill this out" email campaigns. |
| Seat billing tied to actual use | A billed seat is a member who has signed in within the last 90 days — never full headcount or org-chart size. Mapping your org and inviting people costs nothing until they sign in. |
3. Core product & mechanic
| Video intros | 5–60 second selfie-style videos, recorded in response to a question/prompt — never typed or clicked forms. |
| Feed | A vertical, swipeable feed of teammate intros (scroll-snap paging, autoplay) — browsing and meeting teammates feels like a story feed, not a directory. |
| Org chart | A live, browsable org chart, auto-seeded and kept current from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 directory sync (or maintained manually on the free tier). |
| Portable video profile | Each member gets a shareable public profile link (app.muchogusto.ai/p/[slug]). |
| "Met" tracking | The product tracks, pairwise, whether one teammate has met another — this underlies the Belonging Score's connectivity component, Coffee Roulette pairing, and meeting-prep prompts. |
| Belonging Score | A single per-org score from three weighted components: connectivity (share of the team with 3+ real connections), activation (share who've posted a real video), and recognition equity (how evenly attention is spread across the team). Full methodology published at app.muchogusto.ai/methodology. |
| Gamification | Points, booster packs, badges, streaks, and a company leaderboard as an activation nudge during a new hire's first 60 days — optional, toggleable by the org admin. |
| Coffee Roulette & meeting-prep | Automated pairing between teammates who haven't met, with a short AI-assisted meeting-prep prompt before the conversation. |
4. AI capabilities
| Transcription & captions | Every video gets an automatic transcript and captions (via Mux). |
| AI summaries & topic tags | Anthropic Claude generates a short summary and topic tags for every video, so "who mentioned React" is a real search, not a guess. |
| Semantic search / Team Concierge | Video transcripts are embedded (Voyage AI, 512-dim) into the same Postgres database (via pgvector) used for everything else — no separate vector store — powering "who to watch next" and natural-language team search. |
5. Integrations
| Slack | Notifications (new intros, Coffee Roulette, meeting-prep) via an installed Slack app, plus an optional directory-sync grant. |
| Google Workspace | Directory sync (per-admin OAuth, not domain-wide delegation), Google Calendar sync for meeting-prep nudges, and Google sign-in. |
| Microsoft 365 / Entra ID | Directory sync (per-admin delegated OAuth) and Microsoft sign-in. A Teams bot is scaffolded but not yet live. |
| HRIS (Scale & Enterprise) | BambooHR, HiBob, Rippling, Gusto, and Justworks — syncs employment lifecycle (hire/termination dates) so 90-day cohort retention is computed from real dates, not estimates. |
| SCIM (Scale & Enterprise) | Real SCIM 2.0 provisioning (RFC 7644, Users and Groups). |
| Sign-in | Google sign-in, Microsoft sign-in, and email/password with optional MFA. This is sign-in, not enterprise SSO/SAML federation — we're explicit about that distinction with buyers. |
| Billing | Stripe for web checkout; Apple In-App Purchase for iOS (see section 8). |
6. Admin & Studio
Org admins manage the whole org from a dedicated admin dashboard ("Studio"): question-set builder for video prompts, org chart editing, member management, identity/sign-in policy (allowed sign-in methods, MFA enforcement, verified domains, SCIM token), gamification on/off, the Belonging Score dashboard, a moderation queue (report & block on every video), analytics, billing, and reports (a quarterly CEO/CFO ROI report on Scale+).
7. Security & infrastructure
| Tenancy | Multi-tenant on a single shared Postgres database (hosted on Neon), isolated at the database level via Postgres Row Level Security — not just application-layer filtering. |
| Encryption | All traffic (marketing site, web app, API, auth) runs over TLS. Data at rest is encrypted per Neon's platform-level defaults. |
| Auth | Clerk-authenticated on every backend route. |
| Video infrastructure | Mux — direct-upload, HLS streaming, auto-captions, signed playback policy with short-lived JWTs. |
| Backend | NestJS (TypeScript), Postgres + pgvector, Redis (cache + job queue). |
| Web app | Next.js (App Router), server-rendered. |
| Hosting | Render, across separate services for the marketing site, web app, and API. |
| Uptime SLA | None published today. Our monitoring is currently reactive; an Enterprise agreement can discuss commitments. See the full security & procurement page. |
8. Pricing
| Tier | Price | Seats | Key features |
| Spark | Free | Up to 15 | Video feed & profiles, manual org chart, portable video profile, Belonging Score (activation only) |
| Growth | $4/seat/mo, $99/mo minimum | Up to 300 | Directory sync (Google, Microsoft 365, Slack), AI intelligence & Concierge search, calendar sync, full Belonging Score, Coffee Roulette, monthly HR digest |
| Scale | $7/seat/mo, $299/mo minimum | Uncapped | HRIS sync, manager connectivity view, quarterly CEO/CFO ROI report, sign-in policy & SCIM, 48-hour async support |
| Enterprise | Custom, invoice billing | Uncapped | Everything in Scale, audit log export, multi-entity support, security & procurement pack |
Annual billing saves 18% on all per-seat tiers. A billed seat is a member who's signed in within the last 90 days, never full headcount. Every new org starts with a free 6-month trial at Scale-level features, no credit card required, and falls back to Spark (not deleted) if unconverted. Full breakdown at pricing.html.
9. iOS app & in-app purchase
A native iOS app (SwiftUI) with feature parity with the web app. In-app purchase on iOS is a flat, one-time, org-wide upgrade — never a per-member subscription — sold as fixed seat-band SKUs (up to 25, 50, or 100 seats) for the Growth tier, purchased by an org admin. Scale, annual billing, Enterprise, and orgs past the top seat band stay web-only.
10. Ideal users
| User type | Use case |
| HR / People teams | Turning new-hire onboarding into a measurable retention number, org-wide |
| Distributed / remote-first companies | Putting a face and voice to coworkers employees may never meet in person |
| Fast-growing companies | Keeping an always-current org chart and "who's who" without manual upkeep |
| CFOs / leadership | A single Belonging Score tied to connection/activation/retention data instead of a survey-based engagement score |
11. Support
Support email: [email protected] — a real person reads and replies. Scale and Enterprise include 48-hour async support. No formal uptime SLA is published today (see section 7). No CSAT, response-time, or support-volume metrics are currently published.
