QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
EVERYTHING PEOPLE
ASK BEFORE ROLLING OUT.
Pricing, the Belonging Score, privacy, setup, and how the Gusto game layer actually works.
GENERAL
What is Mucho Gusto, exactly?
Mucho Gusto turns your first 90 days into a retention number — five-second videos your team actually watches, and a Belonging Score your CFO believes. Under the hood: a short selfie video answered to a prompt, that becomes a swipeable team feed, a self-updating org chart, and an AI-searchable archive. It replaces the "reply-all intro thread" nobody reads with something people actually watch.
Who's it for?
HR and People teams at companies with remote or hybrid teammates, fast headcount growth, or new hires who never end up meeting the rest of the company in person.
What's the Belonging Score?
A score built from three real, product-level signals — connectivity (share of the team with 3+ real connections), activation (share who've posted a real video), and recognition equity (how evenly attention is spread) — never a self-reported survey. Spark gets an activation-only "lite" version; Growth and up get the full score, week-one-connections, and 90-day cohort retention. Full methodology →
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — a native iOS app alongside the web app. Recording works from either; the feed, org chart, and Belonging Score are the same experience on both, and the Gusto points/Dex game layer (where enabled) matches too.
PRICING & BILLING
How does pricing work?
Per seat, per month, billed monthly or annually (18% off annual). You're billed for teammates who've actually signed in in the last 90 days, not your full headcount, and never for org-chart-only members.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — a free 6-month trial on every plan, no credit card required to start. Set up your first questionnaire and start recording intros before you ever enter billing details.
What's the difference between Spark, Growth, Scale, and Enterprise?
Spark is free for up to 15 seats — the feed, profiles, a manual org chart, portable video profile, and an activation-only Belonging Score. Growth ($4/seat/mo, $99/mo minimum, up to 300 seats) adds directory sync with Google Workspace/Microsoft 365/Slack, AI intelligence and Concierge search, the full Belonging Score, calendar sync, Coffee Roulette, and a monthly HR digest. Scale ($7/seat/mo, $299/mo minimum, uncapped seats) adds HRIS sync (BambooHR, HiBob, Rippling, Gusto, Justworks), the manager connectivity view, a quarterly CEO/CFO ROI report, sign-in policy controls, SCIM provisioning, and 48-hour async support. Enterprise is custom, invoice-billed, and adds audit log export, multi-entity support, and a security & procurement pack. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
PRIVACY & SECURITY
Is our data isolated from other companies on Mucho Gusto?
Yes — every tenant is isolated at the database row-security level (Postgres
FORCE ROW LEVEL SECURITY), not just at the application layer. One company's data is never queryable by another's, even in the event of an application-layer bug.Are we GDPR / CCPA compliant if we use this?
Data export and erasure are built into the product itself — any teammate can export their own data or request deletion, and it's enforced the same way for everyone, not a manual support ticket.
What happens if someone posts something inappropriate?
Every video can be reported or blocked by any teammate. Reports land in an admin moderation queue for review — nothing is auto-removed without a human looking at it, and nothing sits unflagged either.
Can our people sign in with their work account?
Yes — Google & Microsoft sign-in, enforced MFA, and SCIM provisioning, available on Scale and Enterprise (the sign-in methods themselves — Google, Microsoft, password, SMS second factor — are available on every tier). We don't offer a dedicated enterprise identity-federation connection today. See the Security page for the full procurement pack.
SETUP & INTEGRATIONS
How long does setup actually take?
Under five minutes to get a questionnaire live. Connecting Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or Slack for bulk invites and org-chart sync takes a few minutes more, and stays in sync automatically after that.
What integrations do you support?
Slack (new-intro notifications), Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 (bulk invites and org-chart sync), five HRIS providers on Scale (BambooHR, HiBob, Rippling, Gusto, Justworks), SCIM provisioning for larger orgs, and Stripe for billing.
Do teammates need to install anything?
No — the web app works in any browser, and the iOS app is optional. Either way, all it takes to get started is answering one prompt on camera.
GUSTO POINTS & THE DEX
What's "Gusto"?
A lightweight activation nudge, not the point of the product: points earned every time you watch a teammate's intro for the first time, unlocking badges (Rookie, Team Player, Culture Champ, Full Roster). By default it's shown for each person's first 60 days, then fades — admins can also set it to always-on or always-off org-wide. Points keep accruing under the hood no matter which mode is active.
What's a booster pack?
Instead of browsing a full company directory, you crack open a curated basket of 5 teammates on a cooldown — some from your own department, some matched anywhere in the org by shared interests. Tap a card to actually meet them.
What's the Dex?
A full-collection grid of every teammate's card. Meeting someone — via a booster pack or just watching their intro — unlocks their card for good. Teammates you haven't met yet still show up as a locked silhouette, so you always know how many are left. Where Gusto/the Dex is hidden (a tenant past the 60-day fade, or turned off), the company leaderboard ranks by connections made instead of points.
